I know I haven't been on top of my kanji reviews lately, but I swear they updated 投 and 持 because I just don't. Recall the on'yomi at all for these two?? I kept reading the info section and I just. Didn't remember the mnemonics at all and I was on a streak for remembering/differentiating between them!
THEN I found someone talking about it in the wanikani forums and they did in fact update certain kanji that previously only had kun'yomi and I felt so very validated. My memory isn't garbage! But now I have to commit a new reading to memory and (sort of) unlearn the old one, boo.
Sometimes I do wonder if it's just worth it for me to reset back a few levels, but it also comes down to doing barely any grammar study at all either.
I do want to make an effort to read kanji more practically, especially since a lot is borrowed from chinese, I feel certain connections with words I've only ever heard spoken and finally having that aha moment, "aaaah, this is That word, and now I can READ it"
