Boruto: Ep 91 - 92
I haven't sat down and watched anime in about a week, so knocking off a few more episodes of Boruto until we catch up to the latest simulcast!
And THEN maybe I'll be better about also catching up on JoJo ^^;;
This arc revolving around Mitsuki and putting his sense of humanity in question is probably the most interesting story ever since the Class President arc ended rather abruptly.
How similar are the Fabrications similar to Mitsuki? Where they only able to develop a will because of the White Zetsu DNA? We don't actually know what was involved in Mitsuki's cloning/creation, other than we know that it must be more advanced and possibly used very questionable means coming from Orochimaru.
Or is the means not really necessary at all, just the presence of a will that makes one human? I thought that how they wrapped things up was a little bit... too clean; they got stripped of their genin status for... what, only seemed like maybe a week or so? Maybe it was longer than that, but it still seemed pretty short--and yes, they did avert a bigger crises, but there was also Mitsuki being a sort of catalyst to the coup happening, even if it started long before they had information and invited Mitsuki to the Stone Village.
It was actually pretty sad that they included a scene of Boruto finding the shining stone while in the Leaf Village, and then it seemed to fade to an ordinary stone. At least I hope that it wasn't just supposed to be a melodramatic moment and really something that affects Boruto--I found Boruto so much more likable than Naruto in how they started, how much smarter he seemed to be, but he seemed to backslide a whole bunch during the whole chuunin exam arc with willing to cheat for some fatherly validation.
One of the things I appreciate about the series, is that even though I didn't finish Naruto, it seems like a lot of the adult characters get pretty cool callbacks or nods with respect to their power.
If I were to think back to a sequel/spin off series off the top of my head, ATLA was similar in the idea of an older-fashioned world when war was still rampant and what it looked like to have major class-divides and people struggling to survive, where TLOK was just the new generation with a few oldies put in for that continuity. I mean I LOVED whatever bits of Tenzin and Lin we got to see, but since they were kind of stuck in like, oh hey these babies of the babies you watched last time, didn't really get to bond with them at all--I wished we could see some of the more of that old-school power difference.
That was a long-winded way of saying, Boruto's crew is cool and all, but I honestly get more excited to see the parents generation still kick ass lol
On a random note, this isn't the first episode with this opening, but this is probably my favorite OP visually--i mean. look at the colors.
